Aerospace Physics

In the Aerospace Physics specialty, students develop a deep background in physics and mathematics and apply it to understanding the space environment, and the dynamics, design, and control of space vehicles.


Pre-Approved Courses:

  • ME 161: Dynamic Systems, Vibrations and Control
  • AA 203: Introduction to Optimal Control Theory
  • AA 244A: Introduction to Plasma Physics and Engineering
  • AA 251: Introduction to the Space Environment
  • AA 279A: Space Mechanics

Recommended Courses:

  • AA 242A: Classical Dynamics – for Advanced Mechanics requirement
  • AA 236A: Spacecraft Design – for Design Course requirement
  • AA 190: Directed Research and Writing in Aero/Astro – for Writing in the Major requirement
  • AA 100: Introduction to Aeronautics and Astronautics – also recommended
